Results I have Produced With Landmark Education

The following results are just some of the things I have produced out of participating with Landmark Education. Almost every area of life that I can think of has been impacted by the work I have done in courses with Landmark, primarily through distinguishing old ways of thinking and relating and creating new ways of approaching situations.

Completed my Ph.D.

I was an "all but dissertation" student when I left the University of Michigan (www.umich.edu). Most people who do not complete their work under a year, do not ever complete it. Through attending the Landmark graduate seminars and the support of other graduates, I was able to let others support me and complete it 2 years after I left the university.

Won Ultimate Frisbee tournaments

Within a few months of doing the Landmark Forum, I was on the winning team of the sport I had been playing for over 3 years for the first time. I also played and won the National Ultimate Frisbee (www.upa.org) title for the master’s division in 1993, only 6 months after having my son. I have been empowered to go for what I am committed to even in situations that seem uncertain.

Being and staying married

I had many ideas about marriage and had a lot of divorces around me. I thought marriage was a bad idea.. When I could see that my view was stuck from the past, I could create possibilities for being married. I was most concerned about fulfilling on some visions I have for the world, and when my husband proposed to me he said

"If you marry me, I promise the things you want to have happen in life will happen FASTER by being married to me than not."

Smart man!

Being a leader in the space-activist community

It was in a graduate seminar where I declared I was a leader in the space-activist world. Within a year, I became the chair of the largest annual space-activist conference at the time, produced by the National Space Society (www.nss.org).

Founding a charter school

I didn’t think I could do it. A graduate friend said it was the right time, and I helped write the proposal for the charter. The school opened under an entirely different administration than it started with and had over 100 students in grades K-8. I started it with under $10,000.

Being a great professor

I have gotten great teaching evaluations, was tenured in my fifth year at St. Mary’s University (www.stmarytx.edu), and love my job!
