Friends' Landmark Education-Landmark Forum Experience

First of all, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Diane Gaither. I participated in the Landmark Forum January 28 - Feb 2 2005. I was introduced to Landmark Education by my Professor and friend at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas; Dr. Carol L. Redfield. I had lots of questions about what the Forum was about. Carol was very patient with me as I did some investigating of my own, and inquired of what I found. One of the things I loved most about those conversations with Carol is that she left me with the notion that it was completely my decision. Our fast growing friendship was not in jeopardy if I chose not to participate in the program.

Alot of stuff I read on some sites were totally off from the experience I had in MY LANDMARK FORUM. Here is what I got from the Forum.

I got a greater understanding of who I am. I realized that the things that occured in my life, like my parents' divorce, my being placed in foster care, and other crisis events that occured in my life, did simply that OCCUR IN MY PAST. These things didn't occur because I was unloved, misguided, unwanted or abandoned as I was so unknowingly believing before I walked in the doors of the Norris Conference Center that first day. It's not that those events didn't create pain in my life, they certainly did. And I continued to live in that pain. I was continually living from my past. WOW!!! What a breakthrough to realize that I was choosing to live there in my past, making it my future. And what a BIGGER WOW! to realize that I could choose not to live from the past.

This was one of the many things that I have "gotten" from my participation in the Landmark Forum.
